Switchblade
Switchblade is a sexy drill beat in the lane of Kehlani and Cash Cobain, produced by TH6. It runs at 143 BPM in Fm and lasts 3:07. Play the preview, pick a licence, and the tagged WAV and MP3 arrive in your inbox straight away.
How Switchblade is built
Switchblade is the longest beat here at 3:07, and it never stays the same for long. It keeps cutting in and out: drops at 0:59, 1:14 and 1:28, a near-silent stop at 1:48 and a hard return at 1:51, then more switches until it thins out at the end. That constant stop and go suits artists who change flow often, and at over three minutes there is room for three verses.
Tempo, key and length
- Tempo: 143 BPM. In half time it feels like 72 BPM, which is how most artists count a sexy drill groove.
- Key: Fm. Its relative major is A♭ major, so a hook written in A♭ major fits without transposing.
- Length: 3:07, roughly 111 bars. That is room for two verses and a hook that comes back, or a shorter song with a longer intro.
- Produced by TH6.
