Right of withdrawal

The rule

Anything bought online in the Netherlands comes with fourteen days to change your mind, no reason needed. The fourteen days start the day after the purchase.

That is the default, and it exists because you could not hold the thing before you bought it.

The exception for downloads

Digital files are different. Once a file is downloaded it cannot be handed back, and the law recognises that: for digital content the right of withdrawal falls away – but only if three things happened.

• You asked, clearly and before the download was ready, for delivery to begin within the fourteen days.
• You confirmed that you understood this means you lose the right to withdraw.
• Afterwards you got a confirmation of both by mail.

The first two come from you, as two separate boxes; a line buried in the terms is not enough. If one of the three is missing, the exception does not apply and you keep the full fourteen days.

What you will see at checkout

Two separate boxes, neither ticked in advance, both required before payment goes through:

• I want the download to start immediately, within the fourteen-day cooling-off period.
• I understand that I lose my right of withdrawal as soon as the download is ready.

The confirmation mail repeats both, so you have it in writing on your side too.

When you keep the right

You keep the full fourteen days if the download was not ready yet, if those two boxes were not put to you, or if you did not get a confirmation of them by mail afterwards.

And separately from all of this: giving up the right of withdrawal is not the same as giving up your rights. If a file is broken, incomplete, or not what the page said it was, article 9 of the terms applies and it gets fixed or refunded. No waiver touches that.

How to withdraw

Use the withdrawal button: fill in your name, your order number and the address you paid with, and confirm. You get a confirmation by mail straight away. You do not have to say why.

A mail to info@th6gotit.com works just as well: one sentence with your order number is enough. Either way, the day it arrives is the day it counts.

Getting your money back

Within fourteen days of the withdrawal arriving, by the same route you paid. No fee is taken off.

Custom work

Something made to your brief is a different case: it is made for you and cannot be sold to anyone else, so once work has started there is no cooling-off period. That is agreed before the work begins, not afterwards, and it is stated in the mail that confirms the job.

Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract. The withdrawal button and a plain mail work just as well.
