Jingles and intros
A good jingle makes a brand recognisable before anyone has seen the logo, and a good intro tells your listeners they are in the right place within a few seconds. TH6 writes and produces jingles, sonic logos and intros for radio, TV and online ads, podcasts, YouTube channels, streams and events: short, memorable and built around what your brand or your show should feel like.
What a jingle does
People remember sound faster than they remember a name. A few notes that come back in every ad, every video and every podcast episode turn into a signature: hear it once and the brand is there. That only works if the jingle fits the brand, is short enough to repeat and does not sound like someone else.
Where a jingle is used
- Radio ads and radio station idents.
- TV and online video ads, from pre-roll to social.
- Intros and outros for podcasts, YouTube channels and streams.
- Sonic logos: two to five seconds at the end of every ad or video.
- Events, on-hold music and brand videos.
Intros for podcasts, YouTube and streams
An intro is a jingle for a show instead of a brand. It opens every episode, every video or every stream, so it has to stay recognisable on the hundredth listen and still leave room for the first words.
- Podcast intros and outros, with space for the host or a voice-over.
- YouTube intros and outros, and a short sting for the transitions within a video.
- Stream intros, a loop for the screen before you go live, and sounds for breaks.
- Intros for radio shows, DJ mixes, live shows and events.
Most shows use more than one length: a full intro, a short version for clips, and an outro in the same sound. Which versions you need is agreed at the start.
What you get
The jingle as a high-quality WAV, in the lengths you need. A lot of brands use more than one: a short sonic logo, and a longer version for a radio spot or an intro. Alternative versions, for example without vocals or with a different ending, are agreed at the start. You also get the usage rights in writing.
How it works
- You send a brief: the brand or the show, the audience, the tone of voice, where the jingle or intro will be heard, and examples of what you like and what you do not.
- You get a proposal with one price, a planning and the rights that come with it.
- TH6 writes a first direction. You react, and the direction gets chosen.
- The jingle gets refined within the agreed rounds and delivered in the agreed versions.
Usage rights
A jingle or intro is licensed for specific media, a territory and a period, for example online and radio in the Benelux for two years, or bought out entirely so you can use it anywhere, forever. That choice is the biggest factor in the price, so it is settled in the proposal. Every sound is original or licensed for commercial use, so the jingle never collides with someone else's rights.
What a jingle or intro costs
Always agreed per project. The price depends on the length and number of versions, whether vocals are involved, how fast you need it, and the usage rights. After your brief you get one fixed price, before any work starts.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a jingle or intro cost?
It depends on length, versions, vocals, deadline and usage rights. You get one fixed price per project after sending a brief.
Can you make an intro for my podcast or YouTube channel?
Yes. Send the name of the show, what it is about and two or three intros you like. You get one price for the intro and the versions you need.
How long should an intro be?
Short enough that nobody skips it. Many shows use a full intro at the start of an episode and a short sting for clips; the lengths are agreed in the brief.
How long does a jingle take?
That depends on the scope and the rounds of feedback. The planning is part of the proposal, built around your deadline.
Can I use the jingle everywhere?
You can use it wherever the licence allows, or everywhere with a buy-out. The rights are agreed in writing before the work starts.
Do you make sonic logos too?
Yes. A sonic logo is the shortest form of a jingle: a few seconds that close every ad or video.
